Tracy Lightner

Founder & Farmer

Tracy Lightner holds three degrees, yet it was a backyard garden in 2019, not a lecture hall, that revealed her truest calling. When the pandemic halted her doctoral studies, she made a bold choice: purchasing 25 acres of Oklahoma mountain land and turning uncertainty into foundation. Her book "Farming 101 For Children" doubles as a quiet act of historical reckoning, tracing the decline of Black farmers from the 1800s to today. Tracy Lightner is living proof that legacy is not something you inherit; it is something you choose, every single day, with your own two hands in the soil.

FARMING AND OUTDOOR RECREATION

At Lightner Legacy Estates & Farm, sustainable farming is not a trend. It is a way of life. Farm tours welcome visitors of all ages to walk the land, learn how the produce is grown, and meet the animals that call this mountain property home. Beyond the harvest, the property opens into a full outdoor adventure. Camping under Oklahoma mountain skies, hiking through acres of raw land, and fishing at the nearby Sardis Lake, one of the state's most beloved natural reserves. With over 15 natural waterfalls nearby, fire pits ready for gathering, and exotic animals roaming the grounds, every visit feels less like a day trip and more like a return to something ancient and alive. This is a place where food and nature are not separate experiences. They are the same one
